After Washington State committed its fifth turnover on its opening drive in overtime, Coleman Petersen's 38-yard field goal gave Utah (7-4, 4-4 Pac-12) its fourth straight win.

Washington State (4-7, 2-6 Pac-12) forced overtime on Andrew Furney's 17-yard field goal with no time remaining in regulation. The Cougars drove 74 yards in 52 seconds to setup the game-tying kick.

Utah improved to 7-0 in games when White rushes for 100 yards or more.

Washington State freshman quarterback Connor Halliday, who set a Pac-12 freshman record with 494 passing yards last week against Arizona State, was 21-of-48 for 290 yards with two touchdown passes and four interceptions Saturday in his first start.

White, who leads the conference with 16 touchdowns, extended the Utes' lead to 27-17 with 6:56 left on a 56-yard touchdown run.

Washington State rallied with 10 points in the final 3:47, including Halliday's 8-yard touchdown pass to Jared Karstetter.

Utah, which secured its ninth consecutive winning season, has won five of its last six games.
