Aaron Rome had a goal and two assists and rookie Cody Hodgson had a two-point night to lead the host Vancouver Canucks back above the .500 mark with a 4-1 triumph over the scuffling New York Islanders on Sunday.
Hodgson, one of the preseason favorites for the Calder Trophy as NHL rookie of the year, assisted on Rome's goal 1:57 into the first period before putting the game away early in the third period.
The speedy winger tipped a Rome point shot from the right post, beating Islanders netminder Evgeni Nabokov for his second multi-point performance in the last four games.
Rome's goal was his third in the past four outings, all of them coming in winning efforts.
Henrik Sedin and David Booth added goals while Roberto Luongo kept the Islanders at bay with a 23-save effort. New York still hasn't won a road game this season, falling to 0-4-2 in defeat.
Matt Moulson was the only Islander to solve Luongo, beating him on the glove side on a rebound of a John Tavares shot late in the second period.
